Truman Capote’s name conjures up chilling visions of
In Cold Blood, and I was surprised to learn that he wrote
Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Maybe that range is a testament to his genius. If Capote had had his way Marilyn Monroe would have been singing
this, not Audrey Hepburn.

I really need to watch this movie again. I'm sure it will take on an entirely new meaning for me.
When I was a kid Andy Williams had a big hit with this. It's like a hymn.
My mom has Andy Williams' Moon River on an LP. Whenever she's gone and I'm feeding the cats for her I put Moon River on the record player and crank up the volume (sort of like Heavy Crooning).
Great song. (And I adored Andy Williams as a kid and actually thought Claudine Longet was lucky to be with him. But I was like 5, OK?) Helen, I notice we're both onto rivers today.
This is getting kind of spooky. You're not going to write about bad-boy celestial objects rising on Monday are you?
Ok, now I remember. Claudine Longet was Andy's ex-wife. She shot her boyfriend and got a month in jail. I remember the poem about it:
30 days past September
April, May & Claudine Longet
Finally home and getting to check out the links. Fun. I really should see that movie sometime.
D, thanks for the poem!
I think if Capote had his way it'd be Rock Hudson singing it.
Ha ha ha!
I've never seen the movie all the way through - but think I'd like it.
